The journey continues
After being on Instagram just over a year and a half, and having loved that experience and how much I have been learning by engaging with the beautiful community there, I am looking forward to take things further. With the launch of this website in late 2017, and now this blog, I am ready to take my art journey to the next level.
As you may also read on my About page, my journey to art making was not a straight one. Although as a child/teen I was crazy about painting, it took me about 19 years of being in a corporate career to realize that it was "now" that I needed to start painting again. Something that started as sort of a side hobby initially, and creating paintings for my own home, then friends, and soon I realized how much I needed to keep painting and sharing this at larger scale. I always knew I would paint at some point (when I had more time!) but the itch of doing this "now" was almost a revelation! So much so that I couldn't believe I waited so much.
Painting has changed my perspective on myself and life. On one end I feel like the child in me came out, the unaltered mind that I had when I was little, and on another end it has been feeling like I entered a new realm, one where I am truly myself and I can't wait to discover more about life. It has been helping me to connect with like minded people, on social media and locally, whether these people are artists or art lovers (...or individuals who resonate with my life philosophy that I try to share here and there). When I hear what a collector or art admirer has to say about how my art makes them feel, my heart just melts and in that moment I just think "this is the ultimate purpose of why I love doing this" and I have to keep creating more. It has become my oxygen...
Can't wait to continue on this journey, meeting many more wonderful people, and see what 2018 will bring…
