ArtistProject 2018 – what an experience!

Artist Project 2018 - Both Deniz Altug

The ArtistProject 2018 show is now 5 days behind us...and I finally have some time to write another post.  This was my first big show and I was really impressed with the organization of this show and my overall experience.   It was the 11th annual show that typically takes place in February each year at the Exhibition Place in Toronto. Here is a link to the show website: http://www.theartistproject.com/

I am impressed with the organization of the show and how smooth everything went, and how well everything comes together - thanks to the show team!

Being part of ArtistProject was a great experience and I really enjoyed the event and the interaction with so many people. I am humbled and thankful for the amazing positive response I have received, and for meeting so many wonderful people. Thank you all who visited my booth and chatted with me and helped me make this an amazing 4 days! And thanks to the wonderful neighbours and artists who provided great chats, good ideas, and inspiration. The artwork in this place by all those talented artists was incredible.

The two-three weeks leading up to the show were a bit exhausting I must admit (I never painted so many white edges and did so much varnishing all at once). But once the show started I really felt it was all worth it.  The day we all moved in to the show to set up booths I got literally very emotional as I walked though the hallways of the show with all the empty white walls that were starting to be filled with beautiful art - I felt so excited to be part of it all. Excitement turned into a short burst of panic when I realized how hard the walls were and I had difficulty with my screws and drill :))) …but thankfully my wonderful neighbour helped me get the trick and once I got it I quickly set everything up.

Here are some photos of the initial setup of my booth:

I am thankful to be able to share with people what I love doing. Being able to talk with individuals about my work, life philosophy, and to hear what inspires them is such a fulfilling experience.  And I am also very happy that many of my paintings found their permanent homes with wonderful collectors.

After a few days of rest, I am now so ready for what's next and pumped to create so much more
