I’m Deniz…
I'm a color-inspired abstract artist in Ontario, Canada. I started to pursue my passion of art after a 20 year corporate career in Information Technology. My artwork made its way to collectors in Canada, USA, Europe, Australia, Brazil, and Singapore. I am currently represented by Galerie Bloom in Montreal, Quebec, and by PI Fine Art in Toronto. In addition to creating art, I also launched my online art course "Vibrant Layers with Acrylics & Mediums" a few years ago, after getting a lot of requests from creatives over the years.
My paintings are mainly acrylic on canvas and consist of vivid colors, intuitively applied in layers with a sense of dynamism and transparency, a balance of energy and calm, a contrast between bold and spacious.
While I draw visual inspiration from various color combinations I see around me and from nature (especially florals or the sea), on a personal level I am deeply inspired by personal growth and transformation, challenging the "norms", and the quest for an authentic life lived with intent. I intent for my paintings to be my abstract expression of empowering feelings of personal strength, freedom, love, evolution, and the cyclical nature between the obstacles and joys of life (the equilibrium of “contrasts” in life). In many of my paintings there are some gentle hints from nature, from elements and forms I love such such as florals, leaves, water, crystals - these are highly abstracted while I work and not necessarily obvious to see in the end result, as they are more of an imaginative abstraction or rather my own “feeling” of such natural forms as I paint. My imagination of such elements (or sometimes photos of them) often help me establish a vision of color combination, flow, form, or sense of depth or light, as I visualize what I could do next on the canvas. My paintings develop very intiuitively as I let the work evolve without any specific expectation of outcome.
My intention is to share uplifting energy, liveliness, and empowering inspiration with others through my art.
